I’m pleased to announce that I’m officially going to be teaching Writing The Graphic Novel I at Emerson College, starting this fall. This course is part of their certificate program in Graphic Novel Writing and Illustrating.

I’m very excited to be teaching a comics course that’s actually part of a larger comics curriculum. I’m very hopeful that creative degrees in comics have a growing future. The Center for Cartoon Studies has certainly proved viability, but I hope to see more mainstream colleges building dedicated programs as well. Emerson’s certificate program is certainly a step in the right direction, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
