Hey all,
I don't really know how to begin this so I'll just jump right in.
As many of you may know, for some time I have been creating an online comic in conjunction with a musician and composer, Gary Burch. So far it has been just the two of us. We hand draw the art, color and ink in Illustrator and then assemble the finished comic episodes in Flash. The comic makes use of many of the unique things the internet has to offer AND IS NOT AN ANIMATED PRODUCT, IT IS A COMIC. We hired on a flash guy in the beginning who was forced to quit due to scheduling. We have looked for other artists and writers to help with the production of the comic as well, but many of them were not willing to dedicate themselves to the project or had scheduling conflicts.
Bottom line is we need other artists to help us with the production of our series. We are doing a fine job on our own, but it is taking us way too long to produce episodes due to us having families and day jobs.
We want to retain the quality of the second episode or better quality. Check out the comic at www.gutterflycomix.com and email us if you are willing to work with us. We need inkers and colorists willing to digitally produce in adobe Illustrator. We could also use pencilers for supplimental art such as posters, wallpapers, and promo art. We would like the same dedication from you as we have on the project and are willing to collaborate with any input of yours as well.
We cannot offer compensation, but when the fires of this project catch (and they will) you will be included in the collaboration and will reap the benefits as well. I stress, your coloring, inking and penciling must be up to par with episode two of our comic! Take a chance and let us know about you. Don't let this be a Henny Penny story and you realized that you didnt get on at the ground level when this really takes off.
We also need marketing people to help market our comic and get our names and the word out.
Thanks for reading.
Can anybody give me a few shortcuts about keeping my website up-to-date? It's just such a bitch creating new pages every few days....I'd like put up a weeks worth at once but then you lose the draw of people going back every few days.
I'd rather focus my time on the writing and art but find myse;lf spending hours a week on the site!
This question prolly comes up often, but I'm just wondering what made some of you decide to put your work online.
My disillusionment with comic publishing drove me online (a bad publishing experience and several rejections). Is this the case others, too? Just wondering what some of your stories were.
Greetings there.
I'm Miguel Estrugo, and this is the fiorst message I post on this board. I've been drawing an online strip named Alice Otter, since 2001, so that kinda qualifies me as a webcartoonist.
However, Alice isn't my first webcomic attempt, and I'm sure it won't be the last. I've been trying to release an online strip since 1996, and failed miserably. I also keep some other projects to do stuff online on the shelf, waiting to be developed from me. I also have published some stuff on paper, and they printed a couple of comics by me on Moderntales' Longplay series.
So, uh, that's my artistical resume. I hope I contribute positively to these forums. See you later. :)
