CafePress to offer Print on Demand

Is it webcomic Nirvana or the final sign of Armageddon?

There aren't many details yet, but Cafe Press plans to offer CD and Books for print on demand.  Like many other things on the Internet, it could be a replay of the California Gold Rush of the Mid 1800s. The only ones who made a killing were merchants selling equipment and tools, not would be prospectors.

Fetus-X Hacked

Eric Millkin and Casey Sorrow's Comic site, Fetus-X, was hacked by Antiwar propagandists from Yugoslavia. In the Fetus-X forum, Millkin explained the haxxors replaced the Website with "a vague, poorly-worded anti-war statement".

"Considering 90% of everything on my site is a supremely eloquent, carefully-honed anti-war statement, well, sh**, that just seems a bit counter-productive. I mean, go hack whitehouse.gov and put up your crude antiwar statement, but don't put your weak-a** antiwar statements over my antiwar comics, antiwar blog, antiwar porn collection, etc."

Millkin found the haxxors and responded to them on their on board, however his response was later removed. To read Eric's response, just go HERE and scroll to the bottom of the page. You can read the full story at Eric's Live Journal as well.

Comics can help us "Be Ready".

Anyone who has read Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics can appreciate the fact that comics, in one form or another, can be an astounding educational tool. The United States Government is apparently aware of that fact too. In its "Be Ready" campaign the US government is using pictures and words to inform the public. From McCloud's own website, here is the link to illustrate.
