Blogging the Comicon

Lots of folks are promising to provide on the spot blogging and moblogging on the San Diego Comicon.

There is a group moblog (photos) that anyone can submit photos to at http://comic-con.textamerica.com/default.asp and another moblog from Warren Ellis at http://fraction.textamerica.com/.

Will Wheaton also promises to blog (and audioblog) his con experience.

Do Webcomics Follow a Power Law Distribution?

I often think of blogs as webcomics' more verbose, less flashy cousin. There are countless parallels between blogs and webcomics and I often find insights into blogs providing some new way to think about webcomics.

Clay Shirky wrote an article on the inevitable inequality of audience distribution in the "blogosphere" and it does seem to have some relevance to webcomicland as well. Do webcomics follow a power law distribution?

Steve Conley New Director of SPX Convention

Bethesda, MD, July 15, 2003 -- SPX announced today that cartoonist and web-publisher Steve Conley will assume the duties of Executive Director beginning with the 2004 season. "Because the Executive Director position with SPX is a volunteer position, although not a hard and fast rule, SPX seeks to have a new Executive Director every three years," says Michael Zarlenga, former Executive Director. "I served for three years and it was a tremendous time commitment."

"We generally try to choose a new Executive Director from within since that person is already familiar with many aspects of the show," says current Executive Director, Greg McElhatton. "Knowing my three-year term was coming to a close after this year's show, we started our search early. When Steve volunteered, everyone knew we could not find a better candidate."

What the fudge is this article about?

This article makes as much sense as a dog speaking underwater.

It's a nice (if somewhat crazy) story, but makes absolutely no sense :P
