Friday's Rookie Round-up

Actually this week it's not so much rookies as me looking at the top of the so-called "click for rank" vote lists that cater to webcomics (all of these lists are in our links section). There are some surprises on these lists though which means we've discovered some new well-read webcomics, or some webcomics have click-happy fans.

At the top of the Funny Papers list is Sinfest but in 2nd place is Hackles and in 5th place is Trilokan, two comics I'm not familar with.

At Buzz Comics there are several new comics listed: Catharsis, Oh My Gods, Random Axe of Kindness, Scandal Sheet, and Tastes Like Gravel make up the top 5 on the list.

Over at Top Webcomics, number 14 on the list is Theater Hopper, another entry in the "webcomics about movies" category.

And finally just for truth in advertising - a true rookie, The Depth Defying Adventures of Captain Nemo, is the second webcomic I've seen about underwater diving. Webcomics is educational!

Bitpass, will you use it?

If bitpass takes off and becomes the number one micropayment system would you use it for something? Could micropayments mean a decrease in the amount of free comics on the web and/or will it enable more creators to live off their work?
Is this just rampat capitalism? Some webcomics seem to have a donate button up before their first strip.
