ComicStack Online

Comic Stack bills itself as "a place on the internet for the comic book community, both for fans and for those trying to break into the business. Comic Stack is not a news-based organization, but rather a community based on reader viewpoints and industry resources." Something perhaps, of a cross between Rocketbox and Comixpedia? In any event, more attention to webcomics is always a GOOD THING.

Comic Stack has some good articles to check out, including an interview with Chris Crosby, Jim Zubkavich and Ben Dunn of Anartic Press.

ComicsUtopia is a new Webcomic Networking Site

ComicsUtopia is constructing a database of comics by creators who need help getting their work in the hands and minds of the thousands of potential readers, readers who are hungry for new comics and new ideas.

ComicsUtopia invites you to submit your book or webcomic to the database. All we ask in return is that you browse our database and purchase at least two titles from it, or read at least two webcomics. This ensures that everyone who joins ComicsUtopia gets the exposure they deserve and helps us help each other. All information and artwork posted to ComicsUtopia remains the property of the original author.

So what are the guidelines for submitting news?

Okay, so I sent out a news piece yesterday morning to promote the fact that a popular blogger who's previous collaboration with me had been well received was again sitting in the writer's seat for this week's update of my strip. Not earth shattering news by any means, but I figured it was no more fluffy than hearing that somebody had posted a really huge JPEG on Sinfest.

As it is, another site picked up the story totally unsolicited I saw from my referring logs that an admin from this site had checked out mine. When nothing happened by dinner time, I sent Xavier a polite email asking if there were any problems with my news submission. I still haven't received a reply. I'm not for a minute suggesting that the people who own this site don't have every right to pick and choose what news articles get posted. It would just be helpful to let people know if certain kinds of submissions are inappropriate.

The Judging Man Summer-O-Fun Tour ends.

A.P. Furtado's Modern Tales comic, Judging Man, ends its summer of fun tour this Friday, August, 29th. Brought on as a 14 episode summer, fill in comic, Judging Man is a sarcastic and hopefully thought-provoking look at life on the big blue ball we call home.

Tip a glass, shed a tear, and see us off as we cruise on into the webcomics sunset. But...if you can't stand a Friday without a little something by A.P. Furtado, you can head on over to www.tweencomix.com for a Friday dosage of TWEEN. This Friday a new chapter begins in the ongoing "Bad Mojo Saga."
