Mr.Devil - my first comic!

Hi everyone, very glad to have found this place!

I've always wanted to make a comic strip, but was never able to because of my total lack of drawing skills... but I've now done it anyway and would love to get some feedback from experts such as yourself. Any comments would be greatly appreciate!

This just in: "The Norm" deadline extended!

Back on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 Comixpedia posted an article: "Jantze Dumps Syndicate; Starts Website Subscription Drive"

In this article, it was announced that he was quitting deadtree newspapers and wanted to make The Norm for the web exclusively (with reprint collections like what Frank Cho does for Liberty Meadows).

The catch was that he was going to be using a subscription model; if he did not get 4,000 subcriptions by November 1, it would not happen.

Here's the latest, from his website (written by his wife, who had a hand in talking him into keeping the strip going after syndication):

"Hello Everyone:

"Well, we are a few days away from our deadline. We've met 50 percent of our goal. Not bad. But here is the interesting thing, memberships are coming in each day now at a steady pace. In fact, if we were to extend the membership drive until the end of the year, we would make our goal. I talked this over with Michael and he agreed.

"And so ... I'm extending the membership drive until December 31, 2004."

You can read the rest of the announcement here. (...at least until it gets updated again....)

Any thoughts?

One Piece....Of Crap

From the festering minds of Deviantart, comes ONE PIECE......OF CRAP.

Who says kid's comics are dead?

Hi! My name's Steve Horton, and I've got a Webcomic debuting at Graphic Smash! The premiere is Halloween at midnight!

http://www.graphicsmash.com/series.php?name=bryceworld&view=current

It's called BRYCEWORLD. It's a weekly juvenile science-fiction adventure comic series.

Here's the premise:

What if you were 16 again, far away from home, with no intention of ever returning? What sort of adventures would you find? How different would your life be if ou had nobody but yourself to teach you how to grow
up?

Bryce Metzger finds himself on the other side of the galaxy from his domineering father. His only companions are his best friend - a sentient computer program named Terry - and a strange prototype spaceship, the Cutting Edge. Together they explore the unknown.

The penciller's name is Sean Lee. We've got a stunning inker, colorist and letterer and can't wait until the pages are finished.

The characters are:

ELIZABETH, Bryce's girlfriend
PHILIP, Bryce's father
KAT, the mysterious young woman Bryce meets on "Bryceworld"
THE SKULL CAPTAIN, Bryce's nemesis
BRYCE METZGER, the hero, who's holding a crystal disc containing:
TERRY, Bryce's best friend, a sentient computer program and worrywort

I'm the writer, as well as the guy who organized the whole thing and got the team together. You can contact me with any questions at

.

Thanks for reading!

FELLOWSHIP 9/11

I have no idea if this is funny but from the website it does sound like a classic mashup parody of two things that really shouldn't go together.

Update: Watched it - really amateurish - kinda funny when parodying Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Not so funny when trying to parody Farenheit 9/11.
