Hi. New guy around here. Please don't hurt me.
I'm a writer of a little comic every now and again, and just wanted to say hi and scope out the competition.
Here's some photos of the recent PAX_2004 event created, sponsored and MC'd by the Penny Arcade dynamic duo. Geez, this looks like it was fun. Crowded but fun.
Wonder if PA made money on this? Hopefully they did so they keep on doing it! :)
Chris Meadows writes a short post relating his thoughts on Keenspot's move to South Dakota. Given his own experiences with small town life I think he's seeing only good things for Keenspot in the move. Myself, I wonder if this move means that Crosby has given up on the strategy of licensing/adapting Keenspot comics to other mediums (movies, animation, etc). It's got to be hard to network and sell properties when you're in South Dakota and all the buyers/producers are in Los Angeles and New York. Anyhow, read Meadows post here.
Although I'm still a little torqued over all of Scrubbo's yammering about Comixpedia over the last too many months, this little Filthy Lies! comic on lighting the BBQ is pretty funny.
Lighting the BBQ. Heh, heh...
Check out the list of artists coming to the Small Press Expo (spxpo) coming up this October 1-3. This is basically my home town convention and the only one I can get to on a regular basis. Which is great b/c in contrast to a typical comic convention this one is geared to indy comic publishers (and increasingly webcomics) which is perfect for me.
If you're going to be at SPXPo and want to talk to a Comixpedia reporter (me!) let me know sooner rather than later so I can make plans.
(Somewhere in 24 Hour Pixel People is my "report" (with photos!) of last year's SPXPO).
