Hacked or joke or what?

Third Base!

This gem from McSweeney's is the only reworking of Abbot and Costello's famous "Who's On First?" routine that I've encountered that seems not only funny as a homage, but a truly inspired bit on its own.

Absolutely no connection to webcomics, just wanted to pass on something that made me laugh crazy-silly this morning.

On the Playground Reveals the Secret Lives of Third Graders!!!

Adrian is right, On The Playground is surprisingly good, especially when you realize creator Alan Anderson is still only 12 years old.

The archives are short and the laugh ratio is pretty good - Anderson may just have a future in, if not comics, some kind of storytelling. Definitely worth a read.

Onezumi and Harknell Put Their Money Where Their Mouths Are

Onezumi.com announced the winner of its third contest - the winner took home a 30 gig external hard drive. (Click here to see the top entries in the contest).

Previously they have given away tickets to the LOTR Experience in Boston, various Anime T Shirts, and a flatbed scanner. The next contest will be announced very soon, and it will have an even better prize than this one.

Is there a catch? Nope. All you have to do is to be creative.

Global Jam Upgrading Site and Taking Donations

The Global Comic Jam is an entire site dedicated to online multiartist web-comic-jams! The stories are open for cartonists from all over the world.

The site has employed a coder to upgrade it to a somewhat fully automated site, where the artists upload their own comicpages to the site, and stats aso are automatically updated - everything in order to make a visit at GCJ a more smooth and enjoyable experience. The cost of this new site is 180$, and GCJ is looking for donations from readers to help pay for it.

Barnes & Noble Hosts Comic Artist Panel

I can't believe I missed this but I'm chalking it up to poor publicity for the event because this is the first I've heard of it... The Pulse has a short write-up of a panel at the local Barnes & Nobles featuring John Gallagher, Steve Conley, and Carla Speed-NcNeil among others.

Keenspot Nabs Todd & Penguin and Down To Earth

Todd & Penguin signs with Keenspot and Down To Earth rejoins after a nearly four year absence. Full press release below.

Warren Ellis site down

Die Puny Humans is getting really popular I guess.

The site has a bandwidth exceeded message Monday morning...

The Action Issue At Comixpedia

Our 26th issue leaps into action with a cover from Steve Bryant and Chad Fidler of Athena Voltaire.

We have an Open Soapbox on the making of an action webcomic from Matt Gasser and Al Schroeder interviews Justin Pierce of Killroy and Tina. We also have another installment of Erik Melander's column, Through the Looking Back Glass.

And we should have a review of a long-running webcomic up tommorrow night. (The review got teraported to the wrong editor station this weekend...)

This months action topic

How can you have a line up of action webcomics without including Alpha Shade? :!:

Hands down the best action sequence on the net. The art is truely amazing.
