How/what to color with?

I am very embarrassed to ask this question, but frankly I haven't had a lot of training in the art field, and my knowledge of art supplies is .. well, pathetic.

Anyway, I want to eventually sell some of my original work, but I have no idea what to use tool/material wise to color them in. I plan on drawing them on bristol board and use india ink for the outline, but I'm clueless as to what to use after that. I'd like to use something that's pretty bold/solid color wise but at the same time be able to apply shading. What should I use? Markers? Colored pencils? What kind?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Any niche webcomics out there?

Just curious to see if there are any what I call "niche" webcomics out there. I have a comic called Tales From Band Camp that relies specifically on music and band jokes. Usually someone who wasn't or isn't in the band field doesn't get the comics because they are specific to the field, but I've found that aspect helps me gain an audience.

That said, I've found that I feel a little bit alienated from the mainstream webcomic scene. Anyone else have this experience?

Pete Abrams Breaks Hand

Over at Sluggy today comes news that Pete Abrams broke his right hand and will be in a cast for a few weeks. Abrams apparently has been working with his left hand for a few days already. Sluggy is expected to run filler strips for at least part of the time Abrams is recovering.

Help Test a Top List Script at Comixpedia

Earlier on the forums I've commented on how we might try to use a "top list" script to generate webcomics recommendations from the larger pool of Comixpedia readers. That's still a high priority for me for this summer - to essentially modify a script and better integrate it with a site such as Comixpedia.

Well one of those steps got a little easier as someone has ported the Aardvark Topsites script to Postpn (which powers Comixpedia). I've installed the top list script at Comixpedia and welcome any and all to play with it. I can't promise that if you register your webcomic on the list now that your "account" will stay intact as I work on modifying the script, but I certainly will try to avoid that. (At some point over the weekend you should also be able to use http://topsites.comixpedia.com to get to it).

In any event, please consider this a Comixpedia Labs type project - we're not even in beta yet.

World Wide Pixel Art Making

Pixel Group is constantly changing webpage as it reflects changes made by everyone visiting it. When you visit - clicking anywhere on it inverts the color of a pixel. Others are doing the same, at the same time. The result is a movie recorded 1 frame per minute.
