White Bread Comics Announces 10th Strip Anniversary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
White Bread Comics celebrates a significant milestone in it's brief history.
Central, Texas – August 9th, 2006 WhiteBreadComics.com announced today that it has reached it's tenth published strip, a significant
achievement that many webcomics never achieve. "When I first started this thing all those weeks ago, I just didn't know if it was going tolast this long." , said strip creator and webmaster, Mike. "You know, It's just one of those goals that you hope you're going to hit, but you never really know until you're there."
I've set up a gallery of all of the Comixpedia magazine covers to date (the monthly artwork on the front page) here. I still need to fill in some information and names but once again you can check out some great work (I count 43 covers) from a great range of webcomic creators.
Tom Hart writes to inform us that HUTCH OWEN, his razor sharp satire of consumer culture and activist rage, will start running in the NYC and Boston METRO starting next Monday, August 14. (Yes, it will replace ROCKY, which is sad.) HUTCH will run for a one month trial, and continue if the response is good. So, if you want to see intelligent cartooning presented daily in a forward looking free newspaper…write and tell them YOU LOVE HUTCH OWEN.
I think I’m going to stagger my Tim talks about the stuff he’s doing posts and my talkback fueling dissertations. Tomorrow more expostulating on stuff and hang out till Friday for Graphic Smash talk.
Last week it went from murky rumor to stone cold fact, that I have joined Clickwheel as associate editor. Tim Pilcher, a man of far greater experience, is our new editor in chief.
The world is changing. Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of Clickwheel? To stand against the might of iPods... and the union of the Two Tims?
Obligatory LoTR references aside, I get the feeling a lot of you guys aren’t really that aware of what Clickwheel is. Well no fear, boys and girls I am jam-packed with the knowledge you crave!
If you've been having withdrawal symptoms since Chapter 2 of Shades came to an end last week, then mourn no more! Yes, the covers are off as Chapter 3 is finally unveiled today at Broken Voice Comics! Now, if only we had a bottle of champagne to break over its bows ... “I draw gay comics because they’re a natural intersection of my sexual identity and my artistic interests†says MacIsaac. “The work I will serialize in ‘Roughs’ is sex-positive and playful. Though most of the comics are silent, I establish character and story through facial expression, body language, clothing and background. I like drawing people, not just assemblages of body parts.â€
