Studio Sharing Via Skype Video

Back in the mid-90s I shared an art studio with my old roommate Justin. They were some of my most creative and optimistic years - our art tables across the room facing each other. Anime playing, music blasting, and ideas thrown back and forth on crumpled up pieces of paper.

I now live three time zones away from those days. I miss them. However, while I was sleeping, Skype upgraded their streaming cam technology and now you can easily video chat with anyone else who has an account.

Hi! I'm a new artist at GirlAMatic and to the community!

Hello,

My name is Michelle Mauk, and I've just been recently added to the new lineup at GirlAMatic! I'm brand new to the community, and to the webcomic world, so I'm just introducing myself and my work. My comic is called Voyage Moyen, it's a fantasy story that revolves around a journey in a world that exists somewhere between Life and Death... so it'll cover a whole spectrum of things. I'm actually really thrilled to be posting alongside all the artists on the site, because they're just so good!

200 Strips!

This past Friday, Sept. 8, I added my 200th strip to the archives of my comic strip, Debt On. There have been over 100 daily strips since I relaunched my strip with a new premise and art style on May 29 of this year.

FAQ: The Guide to Comixpedia for Creators

I've been trying to polish up the new FAQ for Comixpedia and I just wrote up a page intended to explain all the ways that a creator of comics can use and participate in Comixpedia (I'm using Comixpedia to refer to all three of our current sites). Creators should go check it out and I hope take us up on all of the available options.

BOO! Halloween Collaborative Comic

As you may or may not know, my goodest internets friend Manning Krull and I make it a habit to produce a Halloween Comic every other year, or so, by the name of BOO!:HALLOWEEN STORIES (The most recent iteration resides here in all its sepia-toned glory).

We are BIG fans of Halloween so it's always been our pleasure to collaborate on the spooky-themed anthology. We had big BIG plans to come back this year with an impressive volume of stories, but unfortunately we ended up not having the time to dedicate to it. Which sucks and is terrible, and was making us all sad. We looked like this: :-(

Along those lines, I recently wrapped up The Calamity! Project, a collaborative comic involving dozens of creators providing work based on a common theme. I'm exceedingly pleased with the final result, and I really think everyone involved did a bang-up job. In fact, so much so that I've been eager to start a second collaborative comic project.

Interviews with Charlie Adlard and Colleen Coover

Hello folks - my name's Thomas Nickel. I'm a writer for a German pop culture site.

We met Charlie Adlard at this year's Erlangen Comic Salon, which is Germany's biggest comics convention. I never would have guessed though that the interview over dinner which the fine folks at Crosscult, the German publishers of The Walking Dead, had arranged would turn into a three-hour chat spanning the whole of Adlard's career. You can find the interview here.
