How To Celebrate 6 Years(?)


So my comic The Asylumantics (www.asylumantics.com) is coming up on it's 6 year anniversary. Sure, it's not as impressive as 10 or 15 but this is the longest I have ever stuck with a concept so each year I keep working with it is impressive to me. How should I celebrate it and get readers jazzed up about the event? Giveaways don't seem to work too well so I'm up for suggestions.

Lots more actually including a panel on "comics criticism" on Saturday.

Cul De Sac Creator Richard Thompson Speaks at the Writers Center


This Friday, October 12th, Richard Thompson is giving a talk at the Writers' Center in Bethesda MD at 7:30 pm. It's timed to coincide with the annual Small Press Expo. It's free but you need to RSVP. (More details at Thompson's blog) Thompson draws a lot of the illustrations for the Washington Post and has two comics - one only in the Post (Poor Richard's Almanac) and one recently syndicated (Cul-de-Sac) - he recently contributed this comic on "Drawing A Funny Comic in 20 Steps".
