Ursula Vernon and I got namechecked in the local weekly, in an article called "Understanding comics in North Carolina"

DJ Coffman wrote a blog entry today about a writeup Wizard Magazine did on Hero By Night. He also talked a bit about how weird it is to be called an "aspiring creator" even though he worked for years with various talented writers.
Over at Talkaboutcomics.com, DAJB writes that today is the last day to nominate comics for this year’s Eagle Awards. Only the five comics with the most nominations will get to be seen by the panel.
The Eagles have a category specifically for webcomics: the Favourite Web-Based Comics category.
This fifth annual conference on comics will focus on the construction of narrative worlds in comics, with particular emphasis on the various temporalities of the medium.
This weekend (March 2-4) is WonderCon at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more info click here!
Crying Macho Man will be presenting his new book PRIME CUT, at WonderCon this year:
Well, okay - some have. Like our friend Boo in Shades, for example. Admittedly, in her case it's a very dry, very British, slyly teasing and yet also self-mocking sense of humour but, hey - we like that kind of stuff on this side of the pond!
Go have a sly smile with Boo in this week's instalment at Broken Voice Comics and then, if you haven't done it yet, please be aware today is the last day you can vote for/nominate Shades in the Eagle Awards.
As a webcomic still struggling to build its fanbase, we really do need your vote to ensure the judging panel even get to see us. So, if you've been enjoying the adventures of Stan, Sunil, Boo, Doug and the Shaman, please do nominate Shades in the "Favourite Web-Based Comics" category.
You'll need to scroll down the nomination form (the category is almost at the bottom!) but we'll make it worth your while. If by some miracle we do get before the judges, we'll organise some kind of a special celebration at the BVC website ... it'll be our way of saying thank you!
I'm giving out free pdf copies of my new book of OPTICAL ILLUSIONS.
Why optical illusions? Well, I wanted to show everyone that I'm capable of doing more than cheap gags. Webcartoonists in general need to move beyond their borders!
Well they were all great actually! Today's Blind Date II comics come from:
Joey Manley interviews Columbia College business professor Todd Allen, whose 2003 study "The Economics of Webcomics" will be released in a heavily-revised second edition in a few weeks.
