Drawing Strong Women: How to Repair Heroes for Hire #13


Kudos to cartoonist Lea Hernandez for demonstrating how easily Marvel could have turned the very disappointing sexually exploitative cover of Heroes for Hire #13 into a much better piece of art, and for proving you can let your female superheroes be sexy without being victims. British zombie adventure comic Little Terrors! reaches it's 100th comic today. The 100 comics span 4 Chapters of the story showing the main characters fight zombies, bears, trolls and even evil monks.

A Big Plus For Minus: Creator Ryan Armand Gets An Eisner Nomination

This year's nominations for the Best Digital Comic category of the Eisner awards is a strong group with a mix of styles and genres. Ryan Armand is a first time Eisner nominee and he got the nod for his webcomic Minus. Minus is a wonderful tale of a slightly mischievous girl named Minus and it features Armand's beautiful dream-like artwork.

"All-ages" means a story in which anyone who enjoys a little action, a little thought, and a little character interplay will find something to like, and where that enjoyment will only deepen as the reader gets older. The webcomic Tales of the Questor by Ralph Hayes, Jr. more than lives up to that definition.

Visit the Spires!I'm guessing you've been missing your weekly fix of leather-clad, sexy assassin action since Issue 1 of BVC's fantasy title The Spires came to an end, right? Well, you need pine no more!

Today, we finally launch Issue 2 at the Broken Voice Comics website, so what can you expect? Well, you're going to see a lot more of the world we've built for this story; you're going to meet some cool new characters; and, best of all, we're going to be revealing a lot more about Jeste. Of course, you're not getting all that today but it all starts here, so go and begin reading Issue 2 now!

Of course, if you're new to the world of The Spires or you just need a reminder about the story so far, you can always read Issue 1 first. That was pretty cool, too.
