Memorial Day Musings

Perhaps it could go without saying that I honor and respect the men and women who have given their lives to keep me free. It should not, however. Though I believe my support is obvious, it can never be so obvious that it goes without saying.

It must be said. It must be said aloud, and publicly. It must echo.

Off to a great start!

WOOOOOO GUESS WHO JUST MISSED THEIR PLANE WOOOOOO

I was starting to stress before I left, but now that I´m in adventure mode, BRING IT ON, WORLD!

A What's Up With Da' Wizards Post.

First up, there’s a preview of the Cayetano “Cat” Garza-edited anthology, Secrets and Lies, available for browsing and can be found right

Shipping Status Update — From Sandra Tayler

There has been a minor production delay on the Ringer-style Rule 37 shirts. The 5XL regular-style Rule 37 shirts are delayed as well. If your order contains one of these type of shirts, it will be delayed. Hopefully we’ll be able to ship these in about a week. All the other orders have either shipped already, or are going out in tomorrow’s mail.

Stupid Cartoonist Tricks

Yesterday I went into Toronto to visit my awesome friend Chris (who is awesome), and we met at this bookstore where I spent about two hours picking out a book (choosing is HARD!). I was asking the employee about a Tim Sale artbook, and he mentioned they might have more in the back, so I followed him towards the back of the store and while doing so noticed a spinner rack that had a few copies of Zombies Calling tucked in it.

COTC Hiatus

Well, this is it for a while. I'm going to take an extended vacation until things work out. I will be working on the comic, hopefully creating a backlog during this down time. I will keep you all informed of what transpires in the next few days and weeks concerning my eye.

Thank you for all your kindness, emails, prayers, energies and, well, everything. Thank you all so very much. Here's to hoping my vacation isn't too long. Take care.

Ex-PEAR-iment: Detail Zoom

zoom zoom!Yes, the title of this entry is shameless. Anyway, since I'm procrastinating on all those papers I'm supposed to be grading, let's talk about a new thing the Pear-Pear Team is trying out with today's comic.

Wigu returns to the web

J Rowland has restarted his webcomic Wigu, with a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule and an initial three strips in the archive. The strip is at a new site (still in progress), but the old Wigu pages and archives can be found through the "Extras" link.

Quick Transmission

It's my and Dave's mutual 31st birthday today. We're celebrating EXACTLY as we should be: at Disney World!

Happy birthday also to my fellow May 26-ers: Bannister, Nick Bertozzi, Ryan Wilson, James Kochalka, and...did I miss anyone?

Wiimember the Webcomics

The Scienteers have a short review of the wrestling comic, Rival Angels.

Brandon Carr posts that the lack of updates to the Weird Adventures in Unemployment comic is due to health issues (his and his computer).  I've been trying to do an interview with Carr - I think his computer problems have been part of the reason that hasn't come together yet.

D.J. Coffman (creator of Hero By Night) has been blogging about a new comic he's working on that will feature the band, the Flobots.

NOT WEBCOMICS

On the heels of Penny Arcade's game, now we get a Strongbad game too? And for the Wii!?  EXCELLENT.

Weezer's video for the song Pork & Beans is a veritable ROFLcon of Intertubes memes and famous-for-fifteen seconds folks

AWESOME!!!!
