WOWIO

Looks like I missed out on the gravytrain that was WOWIO. Reports are that the ad-supported downloads have been replaced with prepaid downloads. Just as well. Something about that setup struck me as unsustainable. Still, would have been nice to have some of that (mmm, startup money …)

Michingus

I'm working on a new comic, solely for Korean audiences. I've wanted to do this little experiment for years. I can never translate these comics for you guys, because every panel and every line is so specific to Korean language and culture that I could never explain any of the jokes.

Viva El Tigre!

Earlier this month, I interviewed El Tigre Co-Creator and Executive Producer Jorge Gutierrez for Animation World Network. You can read the complete interview here. Please check it out, and, as always, if you enjoy what I'm writing, please drop the folks at AWN.com a line and tell them to keep me around.

Thanks!

Comic-Con Pictures

So, now that the dust has settled after San Diego Comic-Con, Sarah and I finally had a chance to sift through the pictures. This might be as close to a con report as I’m going to do — enjoy![Show as slideshow] Zooey? Supergirl? A little of both? The Paparazzi decend on my booth at Comic-Con. The Monarch and [...]

Look What's Under the Bridge

The NY Times has a lengthy article on trolling and some of the more high-profile anonymous/pseudonymous trolls on the Internet.  Interesting I guess.

I think for the first 3-4 years of ComixTalk we didn't edit anything and then at some point I switched things to a "civility policy".  Under both systems, I've never felt particularly obligated to respond to trollish comments although inevitably I've had to write to it from time to time.

New part 9x update

Yes there's a new part 9x update, which means that I think I'm about 25% of the way though a rather complicated part 9 update. This is an animation of a new and rather silly mod.

I've also been putting more adverts on my site. Sorry but I have to eat and justify the time I spend on this to my family. If you want to see it advert free, send me lots of money!

Howard on Comics Coast to Coast

Tom Racine of Comics Coast to Coast interviewed me briefly at Comic-Con, and that interview is up as part of Episode 47 - Justin and Tom’s Comic Con Recap. I haven’t listened to it yet, but from the liner notes it looks like mine is the second segment in the show, around the 22:30 mark.

Follow the link above, and then click on the iTunes link on the right-hand side of the page. (I’m not sure how non-iTunes listeners get to the show. Sorry!)

Look for Ed Ryzowski at Connecticon

Evil Inc colorist, Ed Ryzowski, will be attending Connecticon in Hartford, Connecticut, this weekend (Aug. 1-3). Look for him in Artist's Alley -- better yet, look for his awesome new banner (pictured to the right) -- and take the opportunity to tell him how awesome he is. Better yet, show him... by picking up some of the Geek Tragedy T-shirts, button and prints he'll have on hand.
