Schlock on Wired: It’s Number One! And It’s Bad For Kids!

I’m thrilled to see Schlock Mercenary listed at #1 on the recent Wired Blog Network post about webcomics. Unfortunately the entry is entitled “Ten Great Webcomics You Should Not Share With Your Kids,” which kind of undermines my whole “family-friendly” claim.

Black belt testing

Saturday, Kathy and I joined daughters E and N to watch black-belt testing at their school. We went about 1 pm, after all the endurance portion was over and they were beginning the form and technique testing. Very cool stuff. The girls are inspired to continue their training - they’re going for their blue belts next. New [...]

Amazon and Booksurge Are Run By Idiots

I've recently been trying to get it through the little pin heads of the actual human beings at Booksurge/Amazon that they cannot give Amazon a 55% markup AND the author a 30% cut OF THE GROSS.

ELA in Love at First Byte

Here's a little wizardly treat to liven up your Monday afternoon.

Co-director Fernando Sarmiento descibes 'ELA in Love at First Byte' as, “A weird mix between She Ra, Tron and Flash Gordon.” It was produced by the Argentinian motion graphic studio PepperMelon.
