Boston Zine Fair 2008

Alexander Danner

I’ll be exhibiting my wares at The Boston Zine Fair this year. There will definitely be other comics folks there also (mini-comics are really just a kind of zine, really), and show is being organized by The Boston Comics Roundtable. The show is September 20-21, at The Art Institute of Boston.

Couple other notes on The Wire, Season Five

All snark aside, a couple of other observations about Season Five of The Wire: It’s kind of neat (and a bit telling) how the Sun manages to miss or give short shrift to the major beats of the “Bawlmer” storylines — Prop Joe and Omar’s passings get mentioned in, well, passing, but bumped from the front [...]

The Wire Season Five In One Minute

For those of you who don’t have 10 hours to catch up on the last season of the Greatest Show on Television, this will get you there in under 60 seconds. (warning: major spoilers) THE WIRE, SEASON FIVE Detective “Bunk” Moreland grimly surveys a body lying on the sidewalk. His friend and colleague, Detective Kima Greggs, is [...]

Reinder Dijkhuis returns as artist on Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan

After nearly six months during which Aggie Janicot of American Gothic Daily took over from me as artist on Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan, I am back at the drawing board. I'll be doing pencil-based art at first as my schedule won't immediately allow a return to full colour, but I expect to be fully back to normal in a month or so. New pages to appear every Monday.

Ten Pages from the end.

I'm ten pages from the end of The War at Ellsmere, which makes me really happy (128 pages since January, a big jump up from the nine months it took me to do 96 pages of Zombies Calling). I've been working on it full-time since the end of May, when an animation project that was supposed to start in June got pushed back to ... oh, god knows. Latest I've heard is September. Anyway, we shan't dwell on that.

Webcomic Wire - 8/19/08

Drawn from sources taking a break from watching the olympics… Wired blogger geekdad had a post called ’10 Great Webcomics You Should Not Share With Your Kids.’ PAX is coming to Seattle late in August if you haven’t already made plans. ‘A People’s History of the United States’ by Howard Zinn has now been made into a [...]

Beaver and Steve skinned alive!

Oh! I forgot to post this little bit of Beaver and Steve fun - one of my readers has put a lot of work into creating a Beaver and Steve skin for Messenger Plus (don't worry he didn't actually skin Beaver and Steve and then stretch their bloody pelts across the internet. That would be wrong.) and it looks fantastic:

I especially love all the little icons - look Beaver is on the phone! It is ADOREABLE.
