Got SQL experts?

In the wee hours of Friday morning (today), pcweenies.net went down. I woke up at 5AM (as I am wont to do on Fridays) to see an Internal Server Error. The log files mentioned something along the lines of: 17-Aug-2008 21:09:10] WordPress database error Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation (blahblahblah) I’ve googled about, [...]

back to class

I forgot to mention last week that I'm back to updating a page of ASTRONAUT ELEMENTARY every Friday.

Currently it's another flashback story that documents Hakata's first day of math class and how he meets Miyumi.

Templar: Scipio's mom is pretty cool, you guys.

Just ask him! He'll tell you so!

Although I have to admit, knowing how to cook an elephant calf is probably pretty cool by most people's standards.

Yet another name you guys will have to remember and wonder about; Astrid Spencer, mother of Scipio. Feel free to hypothesize what kinda woman she is.

ANYWAY.

Webcomic Wire - 8/22/08

Drawn from sources all over the world wide web… ACT-I-VATE has a write up in the Los Angeles Times. Koltreg has some mini reviews posted in his blog. Another forum thread asking for your favorite webcomics on Whitechapel. BOOM! Studios has a review of the webcomic Zombie Tales. The Webcomic Overlook has a post about the Webcomics Weekly and [...]

Just wondering…

If you opened a large music store and just shelved everything alphabetically, then installed a large number of computer workstations with live links to music-map, AllMusic, Wikipedia and large review sites like Pitchfork, how would it do? Personal anecdote: I spent ten minutes in an HMV last month looking for Bonnie Prince Billy’s “Lie Down [...]

The Peach and Stinz and Barr Girls on Webcomicsnation

The Webcomicsnation AFTERDEAD series has a RSS feed, and loads a new strip on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It's free! The advertisers on Project Wonderful pay for it.

Peach is still trying to help Stinz get out of breeding for the AfterReich,* even though Stinz is convinced that's the only way he can save his kids from becoming cannon fodder.

(German-speaking readers will get THAT pun).

Things I Wish I Had Thought Of Part 78

One of the things I love about my fiancée is that together, we form a pretty cohesive “cheap entertainment” unit, as we can pretty much just walk around and look at stuff and have a good time doing it. And when you’re with somebody who has a compatible sense of humour, Bed Bath & Beyond [...]
