The Webcomic Overlook #53: Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi

One of the questions I get asked often is: “El Santo, how come you never cover webcomic fanfiction?” OK, I so I never actually get asked the question. Ever. Heck, you’re probably kicking yourself because now you know that webcomic fanfiction exists, and you can do nothing to scrub that terrible thought from your [...]

More Desert Peach and Stinz on WebcomicsNation

It's going to take months to run all the new Desert Peach and Stinz AFTERDEAD strips at Webcomicsnation.

I have a whole new 64-page book to scan, including a lot of color and a night at the roller derby.

I'm getting closer to just putting all the books up at Lulu Going through distributors almost doubles the prices on all books, even more on color books.

Back on Track ... Sort of

Hi Cats!

I’m back to working on the strip although nothing has changed w/ my vision. Still don’t know what’s going on, but I plan to see another eye doctor on Sept 9th. We’ll see what happens. Work is going slow, but I may be able to get a once a week thing going starting next week. The plan now is to just do both COTC and Sebo for as long as I can. I’ll keep you all advised. Thanks again for all the support.

Websnark’s Eric Burns-White on criticism

Over at Websnark, Eric Burns-White posts a lengthy essay on criticism. I’m still not sure what to think of it. It’s the sort of piece that you have to read several times to let the points soak in. BTW

Over at Nickelodeon, we've been working out the details of our first ever Kids' Graphic Novel Award. It's mostly thanks to the hard work of [info]chrisduffyrocks, who has been wanting to get something like this off the ground for a while now.

AMERICA IS AWESOME

Vote Americawesome Party

I'd like to remind you to vote the AMERICAWESOME Party this November. We don't have any candidates yet, but we think America is Awesome, also dinosaurs. I might have a convention later next week, it'll involve getting together for milkshakes or something.

It's a big day for my wife, who is today not only recovering from surgery by also getting her first-ever byline on a City Desk piece. It's the latest installment of Nice Work If You Can Get It, a non-saucy little number called "Having Your Cake and Respecting It In The Morning." Fun fact: The two best jokes in this one were hers. Eat up and enjoy!

a bed we can lie in

It's wa-ay rough, and I'll catch shit if the guys heard I uploaded it, but we spent a decent part of the day recording and here's a rough cut of some new HangDog:

It needs some fantastic mandolin (by robbie) and a guitar lick he's got worked out, but for a rough, it's pretty decent.
