Talk about the cessation of DC's Minx line is reverberating through the journals of lots and lots of people I read today, and for good reason.

You can blame marketing, you can blame booksellers, you can blame the lack of female creators behind the line, or the fact that the books weren't in color, of the title of the imprint, or the fact that not all of the books were great...I just hope that people won't summarize that Minx went under because girls simply don't want to read comics.

(The following is a poorly thought out ramble. I hope you enjoy it.)

Take a picture of yourself right now.
Get a hot dog. Be nonplussed. Just take a picture.
Post that picture with you looking nonplussed with a hot dog.
Don't go posting an eight megapixel hot dog.

Gonna be quiet for a while as I really need to catch up on some stuff. Overcommitin’ fool that I am.

I am going to be appearing at the Birmingham International Comics Show next weekend to appear on the DFC comics panel, and I will also be sitting on the DFC table chatting to people and doing sketches (and hopefully sneakily selling a few copies of Beaver and Steve under the table when no one is looking), so if you'd like to say hello make sure you come along!

And here is another picture from the latest series of Super Animal Adventure Squad (The colours seem to have got a bit screwed up converting from CMYK back to RGB, but they are actually kind of pretty).  I will try to post more images soon. Perhaps ones of my favourite new character: Chippy the magic oven.

He’s too busy fighting crime to be savvy to the fact that Popeye Cigarettes are now Popeye Candy Sticks, and don’t have the “burning ember” red tip at the end any more.
