NCWCCC September Meeting

The September meeting of the NCWCCC will be at The Design Box on Saturday, September 13th in Raleigh, NC from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM .  Thanks again to Paul Friedrich for getting us the space.

Deadline for Contributors to Anthology 2 - September 15th

The webcomic Stupid and Insane Defenders Against Chaos (located at Onezumi.com) has relaunched with a brand new design and focus. The new site is based on WordPress and is designed to be more user friendly while also showing off the new Storyline focus of the comic. The site is currently being updated 7 days a week in order to rebuild the comic archive while also reimagining some of the older comics to fit into the new direction of the comic.

It's a great time to stop by and pick up the comic from the beginning.

Some time ago, Joe Chiappetta contacted me by e-mail asking me to review his webcomic, Silly Daddy. For various reasons, I haven’t been reviewing solicitations lately. As I mentioned in one of the comments, it’s much easier for me to write reviews for a comic that reflect my own interests rather than tackling something that may or may not stoke my curiosity in the first place.

Comic Stuff: I’m updating COTC once a week for now, but I don't plan to announce any return on the site or anywhere else, (other then my blogs), until I can sustain it.  Not sure how long that will go on, but count on it for Friday’s this fall. ;)

I’m still working on a forthcoming PCW print edition. Here’s one of the preliminary sketches I’ve worked up. Cover design is loads tough. I may have a few more versions to create. (BTW, I realize it’s a little cropped on the left side. I’ll fix that in the inked version…)

On one of Halfpixel’s Webcomics Weekly podcasts, Kris Straub identifies with an e-mailer who claims that he has way too many ideas to contain in one comic. Watch Ol' Bandit Run! Last week, after discovering that I had never seen the film Smokey and the Bandit, my two friends Grant and Scott insisted we sit down with some beers and cigars to watch it. Their enthusiasm for the film was infectious, this is the result.
