The Day After

So, yes, I got my book yesterday! Or rather, Strange Adventures was kind enough to front me one before my comp copies show up. It looks lovely. It printed beautifully, which thrilled me (it's always nerve-wracking before you see your book in print, wondering if what you see on the screen will translate properly). SLG used different paper from what they used for Zombies Calling, crisp, white paper that made the inks look beautiful and smooth, and the shading stand out nicely. The larger size and gutters around the artwork creates a completely different feel from ZC ...

One More Day

Hey, guess what? The War at Ellsmere comes out tomorrow! It's like Christmas. O_O Well, for me, at least. I think I'll have a hard time sleeping tonight. I don't know, people who seem all nonchalant about their books coming out, I don't understand them. Maybe the excitement will rub off in a few years. But for the moment ... I'm so excited!

Art for Sale

Hey guys, I have some original artwork for sale, just through me, not ebay or anything. I'm trying to buy a portable drawing desk so I can work during the Christmas Holidays (a cartoonist never gets to rest, something I really don't mind most of the time. I like my job) when I fly back to Ontario to visit my folks. Email me at faitherinATyahoo.com if you're interested in any of the artworks. No lesbian drawings this time around, unfortunately ... those sold fast last time I did this. :)

Ellsmere bio comic

I did a bio-comic instead of a picture for The War at Ellsmere. I like it when manga artists do that. It's like you're getting to know them and they're wacky! Sometimes I even like the bio comics better than the actual comic, which disappoints me. Hopefully that won't be the case with my book ... right? Anyway, click the LJ cut to read it.

Hugh Jackman is sexiest man alive? Duh.

Glorious! Typing here from a "new" computer, actually one of my brother's Frankenstein efforts, assembled from cast off computer parts and some duct tape ... but praise jebus, it is so much faster than my old computer, and even smells nicer. It only took 20 seconds to boot up, rather than the standard 10 minutes! Truly wondrous. The old computer lasted me nearly eight years, and I expect the same out of this one. It made the trip all the way from Ontario safely, so I think it's pretty hardy. Unfortunately I'm not expecting to get anything back from the old computer.

Street Art

My lovely local comic store, Strange Adventures, has been putting up a mural outside their store, using an image from The War at Ellsmere. Cool, huh? I've graduated to street art! I walked by it the other day and they're even painting in the background of the school and everything.

The book's out December 3rd! I'm so excited I think I may throw up. But in a good way. Happy vomiting.

... did I just write that?

So today there's some sort of election?

Yesterday I was in the US Consulate getting some papers notarized, and overheard an older woman talking about the election to the security guard.
Older woman: I haven't voted since Nixon. I voted for him and he broke my heart, so I haven't voted since. But I would've liked to have voted in this election. I'm a dedicated Republican but this time I thought I might switch. I like John McCain but then he had to name that LITTLE GIRL as his running mate...

... she said "little girl" with such disgust, I almost felt bad for Palin. But not quite.

ugh

Well, this sucks. My computer appears to have ... god knows. Last night I was watching something online and suddenly the mouse stopped working. I rebooted and ... nothing. Literally nothing came up on the screen. The computer was on, whirring away, but the monitor was blank, except for the occasional 'monitor is turned on' message. This morning the computer started making an ominous 'tk tk tk' noise, but again, nothing.

First Second and Me

I've gotten word I can talk about this now, because contracts have been signed, so that means things are legal (tee hee!), so I'm going to talk a tiny bit about my next project. It feels right because just this week The War at Ellsmere was sent off to the printers, so it is completely finally finally DONE, a cause of much celebration on my end.

Monster Vol 17

The newest volume of Monster (vol 17 of 18) was supposed to come out on the 21st, so I rushed over to Strange Adventures to pick it up. Disaster! For some reason it hadn't come in, and wasn't on their ship list for next week either. So I did a horrible traitorous thing and went by Chapters (Canadian big box book store, for the Americans), and weirdly enough, they had two volumes in the series. Number 5 and number ... 17. Yeah, it didn't make sense to me either, but whatever.
