hey im new here and i have just started making a comic. it is updated weekdays and maybe some of you will like it. but feel free to tell me how bad it is also. heres the link to the first one:
Its a good first start. Try using a the free program called Gimp to do the word bubbles it the computer after scanning the drawings. It works out really good and gives you some more flexability. Or try out sketching a space for the word bubbles and erasing them later, my sis does that for her drawings, where as I do the word bubbles in the computer.
thanks for the comments. about the thought bubbles, the picture pretty much dictates where the bubbles will be and its not always possible to make it read from left to right, so i mostly just make sure that it reads from top to bottom.
Hey, I had a look at your comic. I have to say I really enjoy it! As the strip progresses you get a great sense of the Moai's different personalities. I'm always wondering if the guy in the background will ever speak up, and what he'll have to say. The writing has a great sense of comedic timing.
If I had one criticism it would be that the speech bubbles read right to left in the first panel and (usually) left to right in the second, which can impede the reader. But hey, it works in Pokey the Penguin.
Very cool. I espeiclally liked the "At least the weather will get progressively nicer until the end of the world" one. I especially like Jarome, quietly suffering the indignity of lying down forever, being quickly silenced every time he speaks. And yet he has the honor of not only having a name, but of being the only character to have a name. A truly inspiring metaphor, perhaps?
Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way, keep up the good work.
Re: im new, and i have a new webcomic
I think you took a simple concept and worked it pretty well.
I'll be honest, I did not read all of them I just skimmed through the first few and the last few. I thought your Halloween one was pretty funny.
Keep up the good work.
