Hello,
My name's Jason Sawtelle the Creative Director and Producer at PixelJump (www.pixeljump.com) a startup with aims to deliver unique content to mobile phones.
Recently we've been working with BitPass to enable their micropayment system to work on many modern cell phones. Our beta product is called PixelJump Press which is essentially a catalog for comic strips on the mobile device.
This, of course, means that potential customers can purchase comics while browsing on their cell phone. We feel that this combined with the micropayment structure will increase the adoption rate of quality content.
There's plenty things to work out still, and if you visit our site there are many things "behind the curtain". However as we prepare for a full-scale launch we are seeking to enter into relationships with independent artists to deliver their content to this new platform.
I invite anyone interested to contact me directly so I can deliver more detailed information and answer any questions you may have.
Here's a small set of info:
*The comics served on phones best are those which are traditional panel-to-panel works (Garfield, Foxtrot, Doonesbury, etc.). We display one panel on-screen at a time.
*The image format is PNG. Color depth is generally 16-bit (some older devices only render 12-bit). B&W is great too!
*The easiest size to work with is approximately 128x128 pixels or larger. The original artwork should be much bigger, we reduce it to fit the many different phone screen dimensions.
*Lettering is a pain to see at these sizes if not done cleanly.
Thanks!
Jason
