"Sampler" page...

I've an idea, that I mentioned in my forum, but I thought I'd also mention here...
One problem I have is that I don't do a gag strip, where every strip is self-contained. It's a series of long storylines, and new readers are frequently lost...
I'm thinking about adding a "sampler page" to introduce new readers, maybe linking to some of the newer, better art. Here's what I wrote in my forum at http://www.talkaboutcomics.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=38....
"I've been thinking about including a "sampler page" since mine tend to be long stories and if you get in in the middle of it, you're a little lost, if you're a new reader. I was thinking of linking to http://mindmistress.keenspace.com/mindact1.htm and http://mindmistress.keenspace.com/miracle67.htm to sort of give the "flavor" of the stories. Maybe http://mindmistress.keenspace.com/miracle58.htm to show her escaping a trap. Maybe this one at http://mindmistress.keenspace.com/forceful34.htm to show readers Vicki. And then say, "Look, for the pervs among you---this is the Internet. You can look at nudity or various varieties of sex with just a click of the mouse, and there's almost none of that here. The closest you'll see is http://mindmistress.keenspace.com/miraclecov.htm or http://mindmistress.keenspace.com/miracle45.htm."
Any others I should pick? I was trying to keep to the fairly recent, when the art was better...---Al"
The more general question I have for here is, do you think it's a good idea? Could other long-story type comics benefit from having a sampler page for their stuff, also? A place to link to give new readers "representative" pages to get a good idea about what it's all about?---Al

I think these excerpts make up a decent teaser, though not perhaps as effective as something created specifically to be a teaser. I think a teaser could possibly be something you or another serial webcartoonist would find useful in attracting new readers (I used to do something similar when I carried my cartoons around in a blue three-ring binder). I think it'd be better to replace the second of the mud pages with that page when she's meditating with her grandfather that you posted to the nudity-in-webcomics thread, because it's a better teaser (no double entendre intended).
