I've an idea, that I mentioned in my forum, but I thought I'd also mention here...
One problem I have is that I don't do a gag strip, where every strip is self-contained. It's a series of long storylines, and new readers are frequently lost...
I'm thinking about adding a "sampler page" to introduce new readers, maybe linking to some of the newer, better art. Here's what I wrote in my forum at http://www.talkaboutcomics.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=38....
"I've been thinking about including a "sampler page" since mine tend to be long stories and if you get in in the middle of it, you're a little lost, if you're a new reader. And then say, "Look, for the pervs among you---this is the Internet. You can look at nudity or various varieties of sex with just a click of the mouse, and there's almost none of that here. The more general question I have for here is, do you think it's a good idea? Could other long-story type comics benefit from having a sampler page for their stuff, also? A place to link to give new readers "representative" pages to get a good idea about what it's all about?---Al
